Belgian artist Èlg, aka Laurent Gérard, and La Chimie in concert at Magasin 4 in Brussels in May 2021, with Vica Pacheco, Johann Mazé, and Marie Nachury. In 2019, he started the composition of a series of sound paintings around the multiple states of being which constitutes the album "Dans le Salon du Nous" which was released on November 2021 on the Belgian label Vlek. Finally a revival of the french langage songs' style! Èlg is also part of the trio Orgue Agnés that we particularly appreciate, as well Reines d'Angleterre with our friend Tazartés. He also wrote a subtle music for the very poetic film "Les Particules".
To listen with pleasure and to follow definitively. Raw energy, between atypical music, oblique spoken word, incantations from elsewhere and pataphysical choir.

Evelina Petrova

Evelina Petrova was born in an industrial city close to St. Petersburg. Her grand mother forced Evelina to study music in a local music school where she took up accordion at the age of twelve. She now blends Russian folk music, classical and quite avant-garde improvised music in her playing. There are also elements of Jewish Kletzmer tradition and East-European brass music in it. The accordion in her hands is sometimes a percussion instrument and sometime one can hear pure, technically excellent accordion music. Her voice is her second instrument.

She collaborates with other musicians as Iva Bittova, Phil Milton, Alexander Balanescu and his String Quartet, and many others and with the film directors Alexander Sokurov and Svetlana Proskurina.

I strongly recommend  the 2007's album with Alexander Balanescu titled "Upside down".

"... in Romanian violinist Alexander Balanescu she has proved that wait was worthwhile: his contributions to her music are at once subtle and powerful, his swooping, earnest, occasionally almost ethereal violin providing a highly effective contrast to the more ‘human’ sounds of her instrument, in either its rhythm-section role or in solo flights..." in The Vortex

"The album title intimates a musical approach that defies the norm. In effect, they effortlessly merge Russian-folk with jazz improvisation and the classical element, while venturing into a rather opaque, avant-garde realm. The duo also treks into the free jazz vicinity, yet occasionally tempers the variable flows with lighthearted jazz and chamber-esque motifs. Simply stated, hearing is believing." Glenn Astarita for “All about jazz”

Cage & Tudor - 1963

The famous lecture/performance of John Cage with David Tudor
in Germany, in january 1963,

"Musik Im Technischen Zeitalter"

with a patient and intrigated audience, who reacted largely with incomprehension.

The purpose was indeterminacy, chance, change and new aspects of music
with new technicals ways and tools for creative process.

In the winter of 1962–63 the writer on music and supporter of contemporary music Hans Heinz Stuckenschmidt, professor at the Technische Universität in Berlin, ran the international lecture series Musik im technischen Zeitalter. John Cage was invited to give a lecture with musical examples. He transformed the live broadcast into a performance of, in Stuckenschmidt’s words, “methods of surprise and terror” determined by chance operations, in which he and the pianist and composer David Tudor performed two compositions by Cage (Variations II, 1961, and Fontana Mix, 1958) simultaneously.

Filmed by the former German public television broadcaster SFB in West Berlin.

Cassiber 1982

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassiber

A very early concert of  the avant-garde group Cassiber, one of my very respectfull band from these 80s.
with Heiner Goebbels, keyboards,
Chris Cutler (from Henry Cow) on drums,
Alfred Harth on sax
& the amazing voice and devices of Christoph Anders.

"...Cassiber (1982/1992) managed to fuse materials and attitudes drawn from experimental rock, fringe jazz, punk, pop, plunderphonics, improvisation, close structure and musique concrete with an energetic and complex form of studio (and then concert) composition that was unique in its combination of diverse experimental approaches to form with a risky, emotional and expressive mode of execution..."

Innocent passage

Olivia Block is a media artist and composer. Currently, her practice includes live performance, recordings, audio-visual installations, sound design, and scores for orchestra and chamber music concerts.

Block’s solo career started in the 1990’s, in Austin, where she played in bands and started making solo tape music. Then she moved to Chicago, becoming one of few females in the field of experimental music and sound art from her generation. She has developed a body of scored and improvised performances for amplified breath, inside-piano, electronics, synth organ and various materials, including metal pieces and shards of broken glass. She has also developed site specific works for pipe organ, most recently at the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel in Chicago.

this concert with Olivia Block, Adam Sonderberg and Paige Alice Naylorin, in october 2021, is a live interpretation of the release "Innocent Passage in the Territorial Sea"

and another recent Block's live at "Instants Chavirés" (Paris- France) shot by Nilonilaz

Magnets and marbles

"Magnets and marbles" is an amazing project where little magnets that can be used to make cubes and others geometric figures: a Kaplamino’s Pitagora-style chain reactions.

Kaplamino is actually Mathieu Carillat, a 22-year-old engineering student based in Paris. When he’s not studying at The Leonardo da Vinci Engineering School (ESILV), he spends hours building and filming elaborate chain reactions on a tilted tabletop: Rube Goldberg machines that rely on marbles, magnets, and a bit of gravity to create some astounding little sequences.

D'autres dispositifs de Kaplamino HERE

We would have preferred that there were only the installation' sounds, without the music, but despite everything, it's fascinating ...
