Noella Cotto had no idea that the building she liked as a perfect place had played an historic supporting role in American pop culture when, in 1958, 57 of the coolest cats in jazz assembled there to have their picture taken for a special issue of Esquire magazine.

Created by the American painter Mark Rothko, Rothko Chapel is a spiritual environment, a space for contemplation where men and women, believers or not, may meditate in silence, in solitude or in a common celebration. In this chapel, built in 1971 by the Menil Foundation in Houston-Texas, Rothko painted fourteen large canvases.

Max

Le compositeur et cinéaste Phill Niblock a réalisé en 1967 un portrait intitulé "Max" en utilisant une technique de collages et de superpositions de plans noir et blanc, images de l'artiste sonore Max Neuhaus qui signe une bande son bruitiste décapante. David Geary en a réalisé le montage.

Les sons remixés par Max Neuhaus proviennent de 4 versions simultanées de "Zyklus" de Karlheinz Stockhausen et d'une pièce aux percussions intitulée "Max-Feed".

In 1967, composer and film-maker Phill Niblock directed a portrait titled "Max" by using a technique of collage of black and white shots overlays, images of Max Neuhaus sound artist who signed the scathing noisy soundtrack: a remix of four different versions of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s "Zyklus" and a percussion piece titled "Max-Feed".
David Geary made the editing.

SARRUSSOPHONE: n,m, instrument de musique à vents inventé au 19eme siècle et baptisé du nom d'un de ses deux créateurs: Sarrus

Inventé durant la deuxième moitié du XIX^e siècle par les français Pierre-Auguste Sarrus (1813-1876) et Pierre-Louis Gautrot (1812-1882), il était destiné à remplacer le hautbois et le basson dans les musiques militaires. L'invention du sarrussophone succède de peu celle du saxophone.

Les sarrussophones forment une famille de neuf membres, allant du sarrussophone sopranino au sarrussophone contrebasse :

alto en mi $\flat$ (équivalent du cor anglais)
