The proloific italian composer Egisto Macchi, who joined with Ennio Morricone the Gruppo di Improvvisazione di Nuova Consonanza in the late 60s, founded the IRTEM for musical theater researches and the "Sound Archive for Contemporary music".
He wrote several music for movies (Padre Padrone, The assassination of Trotsky ... ) and described his music as "dionysian".

Nice to see the maestro mentioned here. He also made many, many scores for short films and tv, combined with film scores and library music, close to 1,000 scores. I had the pleasure of visiting his archive in Venice. He deserves much wider recognition.
