Erkki Kurenniemi, born in 1941, was a Finnish artist involved in the cultural surrender of the cyber existence. As designer, he build electronic instruments, composed music and was an experimental film-maker. He worked at the Departement of Musicology at the University of Helsinki, as well at the Department of Theoretical Physiscs in the 60s. His major music work is electroacoustic, using devices he created.
The movies he did were silent, and in 2003, with Mika Taanila, he added contemporaneous electronic music of their own.
