Murmuration: substantif féminin : nuée organisée d'oiseaux en vol
Une murmuration (parfois appelée murmure), est une très belle manifestation de la nature. C’est ainsi qu’on appelle les grands rassemblements d’oiseaux dans le ciel, où ils forment des masses compactes et mouvantes au crépuscule. Devant un obstacle, les rangs d’oiseaux s’ouvrent puis se referment dans une constante reconfiguration de formes. Au loin, le son de ces milliers d'oiseaux évoque un murmure.
Le réalisateur hollandais Jan Van Ijken
a créé un court film documentaire, "The art of flying" dont voici un
extrait, pour étudier cette mystérieuse capacité des oiseaux à évoluer
ainsi d’une seule volonté et sans se cogner.

A murmuration is a beautiful manifestation of nature. It's the name given to the large gatherings of birds in the sky, where they form compact, moving masses at dusk. Faced with an obstacle, the flocks of birds open and then close in a constant reconfiguration of shapes.
Dutch director Jan Van Ijken created a short documentary film, "The Art of Flying," an excerpt of which follows, to explore this mysterious ability of birds to move in this way with a single will and without colliding.
